The Exquisite Corpse of Green Man
The surrealists played a game called "Exquisite Corpse," in which each person wrote one line of a poem. At Green Man (at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, July 11-13) the Duluth Art Institute and mnartists.org sponsored a similar project. Here's the result.

My friend is wearing my hat, don’t think it’s me.
Silence is golden
Music is silver
Coins in the vendors’ hands
Ringing too
We are all hypocrites in a world of everyone
Trying to do what’s best.
The only thing to fear is fear itself.
We all have our strengths. Smile big!
Green fog yesterday
Sunshine and wet grass
Dewdrops bounce the melodies
Silence—a final dawn thought-drop.
The slip-slide slip-slide of a skateboard
Watch your step.
Look at the lake.
Lube your skin.
No shake and bake!
Grab a rake, eat a cake, smoke a jake and smile a thousand miles
Cause a smile will make you shine.
Love. Because it hurts so good.
Lackadaisical.
Ape.
Amethyst.
At 9 hours into the 12-hour bike race, “I’m
Not cramping much, I just can’t go up anymore.”
Green andromeda, aurora shimmering
Hot
Hotdog
Teddy, I love
Action
Hackysack
Bounce
Lots of cowboy hats
For boys and girls
Ribbons in a twirl
Making monkeys
Ambiance
Lust for living,
Dreadlocks, dance
Little glass monkeys, headbanging and goatees
Daughters of god splayed out in full natural regalia
The sky so soft this late afternoon
