This is a series of snapshots in text, a relation-based, person-specific time capsule (not a diary), an attempt at outlining a constellation. The only overall shared identity across the series is that of artist. I’m curious: what are the current commonalities/dissonances among my connection points across disciplines? What happens to a conversation between creative collaborators/friends when sifted through again and again, chopped, reworded, redacted? What are we teaching each other? Who was I in relationship to them? Who were we? What did we think (about) in 2023? How were we specific? I want to share the inquisitive process with you. I believe this series has its own gravity and desires. I will move towards what I think I want but eventually the thing reveals what it wants and I have to meet it. Discovery emerges through collision.
