Eva Rose Cohen (evarosecohen.com) is an artist who makes comics, fine art, hand-decorated textiles, and album art for musicians. Eva has exhibited in the Q.arma Building during Art-A-Whirl and in group shows at the Solar Arts Building, Cult Status Gallery, CO Exhibitions, Altered Esthetics, and other Minneapolis gallery spaces. She has also been involved in projects and residencies in New York City; in 2014, she participated in a Jewish museum studies focused residency cosponsored by Tent: Encounters with Jewish Culture and the Manhattan-based The Jewish Museum, and in 2012, she helped produce iSpy, a “participatory conceptual game show,” at Flux Factory in Long Island City, New York.
Beginning in January 2016, Mn Artists will be presenting her comic series about the lived experience of being an artist as a bimonthly feature. Eva also teaches Judaics in the Talmud Torah of Saint Paul Afternoon School and is the school director and bat/bar mitzvah prep teacher in the Jewish Cultural School at Or Emet: MN Congregation for Humanistic Judaism. She does additional work as a patient educator and medical actor at the University of Minnesota and for other local, national, and international clients. Her art reflects this diversity of creative and professional practice.
