Emmy E Smith is an artist and writer whose work ranges from the unserious to the intangible. Studying the oceanic and the technocratic realities of mass extinction and contemporary life, her work employs space to activate large scale ink drawings and materially significant sculptures informed by a formal background in goldsmithing, woodwork and carpentry, as well as an auto-didactical curiosity toward the natural world. Emmy currently lives in the pacific northwest, working in a fabrication shop at an arts college.
