Long Meadow Art Residency
Long Meadow Art Residency (Berkshires, NY)
Long Meadow Art Residency offers a solo residency set in a breathtaking and tranquil environment. Designed to provide artists with uninterrupted time to engage with their practice, the residency fosters artistic growth through reflection and exploration.
Opportunity: LMAR awards residencies 6 weeks to 3 months in duration with a stipend of $3,000 per month and supply budget of up to $2,500. During their stay, residents are provided with a house, an art studio, and the use of a car.
Network: Residents are tapped into a broader community through the Berkshires arts scene, interactions with past residents, studio visits, and potential mentorships with board members — who are artists themselves, gallerists, art historians, and collectors. Each artist comes to Long Meadow with their own circles of support. We welcome residents to bring their loved ones, peers, collaborators, and mentors into the space to support their growth during the residency.
Onward: The best outcome of the residency has been the long-term network of support and collaborations with the artists who come through our program.
Our Studio & Residence
Nestled in the Berkshires, Long Meadow offers a peaceful environment immersed in nature. The studio features a garage-style window that fully opens, seamlessly connecting the long meadow outside to our studio inside. The resident’s house has a full kitchen, dining space, two bedrooms and a loft, all conveniently connected to the studio by a porch.
Residency Cohort
Community: While our residency is designed for individual practice, the artists in the Long Meadow network form a strong support system. We coordinate group studio visits and events, helping artists connect, share, and grow within this community, both during their residency and beyond.
Happenings: Each season we invite past residents to return, offering them an opportunity to reconnect with board members and meet the newest members of the cohort. These gatherings provide a dynamic space for continued collaboration and growth within our community.
