I am a recent MA graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. I studied on a course titled, “Sex and Violence in American Art: 1960-NOW,” and wrote my dissertation on American video and perfromance artist, Andrea Fraser.
The art that I am interested in is critical of the institution, of patriarchal hierarchy, and questions the stability and location of identity.
Feminist practice, psychoanalysis, institutional critique, gender and queer theory, post-colonialism, and the theoretical implications of painting in a postmodern world are foundational to my methodological approach to contemporary art.
Recently relocated to the Twin Cities, I am looking to engage in the vibrant art community here, by connecting with artists, curators, thinkers, writers, and appreciators of the local scene.
