Dance and Music Residencies Open Call
Art Omi (Ghent, NY)
Applications are now open for the 2025 sessions of the Art Omi: Dance and Art Omi: Music residency programs!
Through a competitive jury process, residents are invited to attend Art Omi’s residencies at no cost to themselves, apart from travel. Residents have the time and space to hone their own craft while making connections with artists from around the globe and living in a vibrant community.
Abundant, catered meals and comfortable, beautiful lodgings are provided on Art Omi’s bucolic campus located in New York’s Hudson Valley, two hours north of New York City. Art Omi is home to the Sculpture & Architecture Park situated amidst 120 acres of fields and forests and offers residents dedicated studio space in our Studio Barn.
Art Omi: Dance
Art Omi: Dance invites accomplished dance artists of all styles from around the world for three weeks of creative exchange each summer. Residents experience each other’s creative process and the freedom to play in this collaborative residency program. The emphasis of the residency is not a performance product; rather, a gently facilitated process of experimentation. This exploration is enhanced by providing resources that dancers and choreographers often lack: space, time, and other artists with whom to work. The result is a model of creative process and community building that envisions opportunities for the participants beyond the sphere of art making.
Residency Dates: July 17 – August 4, 2025
Art Omi: MUSIC
Art Omi: Music welcomes composers and sound-makers working in all genres and from all backgrounds, from all over the world, to come together for two and a half weeks each summer for a uniquely collaborative music making residency. Art Omi: Music encourages its participants to share ideas, perform each other’s works, and write music for one another, while exploring their own musical vision and broadening their artistic and cultural horizons.
Residency Dates: August 7 – 25, 2025
There is no fee to apply to the open call.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, January 2 by 11:59 PM EST.
