Thunderdomesticity: Witness Me – Juried Exhibition

Thunderdomesticity: Witness Me is a national juried exhibition designed to honor the strength of women (including but not limited to: cis women, trans women, non-binary, two-spirit, and gender fluid people) during dystopian times. All artists from the United States, regardless of gender, are invited to submit one or two high quality photographs of their art before the deadline of April 4, 2025. Witness Me is the 4th annual Thunderdomesticity exhibition, and it will feature artwork that is post-apocalyptic, feminist, and everything in between. During a time when it feels like the world is ending, it is vital to see and respect people of marginalized genders. The juror of this exhibition is Klaire Lockheart, host of the Femininity in the Post-Apocalypse podcast. Accepted artwork will be professionally printed, with the longest dimension at 8”. The prints will be wheat-pasted to the exterior of No. 7 Center Gallery in Vermillion, SD. The selected images will also be included in an online exhibition hosted by the Packard Group. Artwork does not need to be figurative nor narrative to be considered, but self-portraits are encouraged. The opening reception will occur on Final Friday, May 30, 2025. The outdoor exhibition of prints will be on display from May 30 through July 25, 2025. There is no entry fee to submit artwork, but artists will pay a $30 printing fee for each accepted image. No physical artwork will be shipped to the gallery. (Due to the ephemeral nature of wheat-paste, the prints will be exposed to the elements and public. The prints will change over time and be destroyed in the removal process after the show ends.)

Guidelines 

• All media is welcome (photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, etc…) 
• Artists may submit up to 2 entries
• Original art can be any shape
• Submit high quality jpeg photos of your artwork (300 ppi, 2-8 MB) 
• Crop the photo to only include the artwork – do not include the frame or background 
• No nudity will be accepted since the art will be publicly displayed outdoors
• No hateful, misogynistic, or racist imagery will be accepted 

Submission 

• Save your jpeg images with the following title format: Your Name-Title of Work-Year Made-Media-Size (Example: Frida Kahlo-Self-Portrait on the Borderline Between Mexico and the United States-1932-Oil on Copper Plate-12.5×13.75 in)
