As Program Director for Mn Artists, I work to ensure that Mn Artists’ digital platform stays updated and artist-friendly. You’ll find me in the office at the Walker Art Center’s Education and Public Programs department, where I give regional artists a voice within the museum and work to connect artists with one another, field influencers, and the public. I’m also frequently out and about, actively sharing our website and offerings with artists and arts organizations throughout the state and region through workshops, programs, and partnerships — and talking to working artists and seeing work as often as I can!
Through Mn Artists, I’ve produced programmatic series focused on digital participation, artistic practices and community; Community Supported Art (CSA), a co-presentation Springboard for the Arts; After School Specials a co-presentation with Soo Visual Art Center; the McKnight Artist Fellowships for Photographers; and programming in collaboration with the Walker Art Center, including Drawing Club, mnartists.marketplace and Artist-Designed Mini Golf, and several lectures, panels and independent programs.
In addition to my work with Mn Artists, I’m an active visual artist, curator, frequent writer, lecturer, visiting critic, and independent program organizer on topics relevant to practices of visual artists.
Most recently, founded and launched Waiting Room, a new, non-fixed platform intended to support artists through visual and personal networks. Born out of a DIY ethos, Waiting Room insists that artists can bypass the traditional gallery model and grow their own audiences through genuine relationship-building.
