Flourishing in Quiet Spaces: 2D Exhibition
The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection
The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection announces a call for entries for an upcoming exhibition entitled “Flourishing in Quiet Spaces”. This exhibition explores how the quiet winter season and apparent dormancy affects an artist’s creativity. How does your process and your vision emerge or intertwine with the quiet imposed by these darker months? How do you respond in your art to these months, dimmer days, and quieter moments?
The Art and Exhibitions committee will consider works in all 2D mediums (Painting, Drawing, Multimedia, Collage, Photo, Digital – printed and hang-ready, Textile, Printmaking, etc.). Artists should submit digital images of no more than 3 pieces that, for you, relate to the theme of the show. A selection of submitted works will be selected and curated by the LCR Art and Exhibitions Committee.
Open to local 2D artists in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area – limited only by the artist’s ability to deliver and pick up their work. All accepted work must be ready to hang with appropriate hanging hardware, framing, and/or other treatment that allows for the safe installation of the artwork on a cable/hook system.
- The exhibition will run from Sunday, February 23 to Sunday, April 27, 2025.
- Deadline for digital submission: Midnight, Thursday, February 6th.
- Artwork Drop off: Sunday, February 16 from 11 AM-1 PM and Monday, February 17 from 6 – 7 PM
